A Very Important Update

It's been way too long since we posted last, largely because we've been so busy that we haven't even had a chance to write about it. First of all, for those of you who don't know, Lauren and I are moving back to Nashville, TN, this coming Sunday, March 29th. We have loved our time in Maine, so much so that we may very well move back here in the future, but we need to go back to Nashville for a while. We're not even exactly sure why, but we've both felt the tug to move. It seems like God called us into the wilderness at a crucial time, but now he's declared that we should return to our hometown for a census (no, we don't really think that the 2010 Census is the reason we're moving; it just works thematically). We're looking forward to being closer to family and old friends, but we're sad to be leaving our many friends up here, especially at our Church. This Sunday will be our last at South Portland Church of the Nazarene (for now, at least).

This past Wednesday night was our last with our Church's Junior High Youth Group (see first two pics). We have LOVED working with the Junior High and are very sad to be leaving. They are awesome kids, and we love them dearly. In addition to our group picture (middle), the other youth group picture shows us playing Broom Ball, a Hockey-like sport played on the ice. The main differences are: street-shoes only (no skates or cleats), a taped-up broom instead of a hockey stick, and a small soccer ball instead of a puck. We went to a local hockey rink a few weeks ago and had great fun, and amazingly, there were zero injuries! (the Sr. Highers were not so lucky ...)

Lauren and I are currently in the final, crazy stages of packing, and now that the DVD shelves are empty, our cat, Tigger, has taken up residence there (see picture). Lauren's Dad will be coming Friday afternoon to help us load the Budget truck, and he'll even be the one driving it come Sunday, which will be a tremendous help. We'll post again in the next few days with some last-minute thoughts and pictures. Check back soon!
