We're in Nashville!

Yes, we're in Nashville now! It's hard to believe. We arrived about a week ago, but we did make a few stops along the way. First, we spent a day in Washington D.C., because I (Dee) have always wanted to be there when the cherry blossoms were blooming. The official "Cherry Blossom Festival" was taking place, and it was as stunning as we'd hoped! We got pretty frustrated trying to find a parking spot, but once we finally found a spot in a satellite lot, we rode a shuttle to the Jefferson Memorial, walked all the way around the Tidal Basin, visited the monuments, and had a great time.

From Washington, we headed to Blacksburg, VA: home of our dear friends Kat and Jesse Lile (and other less important things like VA Tech). For those of you who don't know, Kat and Lauren go way back to the Furman days, and Kat was Lauren's Matron of Honor in our wedding. We hadn't seen Kat and Jesse since our wedding, and it was so nice to spend a couple of days with them in their home. Tigger especially appreciated having free reign of the house after having been cooped up in the car for a couple of days. (We were silly and forgot to take pictures while we were there. Sorry!)

From Blacksburg we headed to Charleston, SC to spend a few days with Lauren's brother Daniel and his wife Allison. It was nice to spend a few days off the road, and Daniel and Allison were so much fun to be with. We're glad to be living closer to them now, which should make visiting a bit easier (same goes for all family and friends in Texas and Louisiana!).

Our cat Tigger was the world's best traveller (we can't believe how easy-going and friendly he is). We've spent the last week trying to settle and adjust to the change, and now it's about time to start the job search. We miss so many things about Maine (especially our Church family at SPCN), but we know that God has good things in store for us during our time here. We were already blessed a few days ago when we celebrated Passover and then Easter with family. Most of the participants in our Passover Seder had never been part of one before, and it was a true joy to share the tradition with them.

We'll post again soon with more news and pictures!
